JIHADIHAWK: This, ASSAULT CLOSING DEVICE, came into being after a shot-up Marine Rifle Platoon evacuated their dead and wounded from a friendly fire incident in Vietnam. An aerial observer spotted 300 NVA soldiers, in uniform, some 400 meters in front of the 3rd Platoon, Hotel Company, 2/1, Marines. The enemy attacked, and over ran a remote Company Patrol Base the night before. The enemy must have been confused by an intense fire fight going on close by, so they climbed out of their underground base to find out what was going on, only to be spotted by an aerial observer. That observer had never seen so many enemy, in the open, before, so he contacted the Platoon Commander, then scrambled all the close air attack jets he could get on station.
The Company Commander in a far-away location ordered the Platoon Commander to attack on-line, into the area, where the bombs were falling. The Marines, CROSSED 400 METERES OF OPEN, NECK DEEP, WATER, STRAIGHT INTO THE RUN IN HEADING OF F-4 PHANTOM JETS PASSING 50’ ABOVE THEIR HEADS. As the Marines climbed out of the water, the last of the bombs knocked all the Marines down with the concussion and there was no air to breathe.
As the Marines picked themselves up a huge mass of enemy soldiers ran into them. The two groups looked at each other for an awkward moment, full auto firing began. The enemy ran back into the jungle brush, and a running thrash of a gun fight ensued through thick foliage. AK-47 & M-16 bullets flying everywhere. When rifles were empty there was no time to fish out full magazines, so people were hitting each other with empty rifles. Long story short we killed 11 enemy, no Americans hit, but we spent time dealing with a wounded enemy officer. We got the Army to send in a Dust-Off Chopper, then we moved into the thick foliage, after the bad guys. The enemy had just run back into their base camp, and into their underground tunnels. Only a couple hundred meters from, where our hand-to-hand clash took place; we came to three, obvious, fields-of- fire tunnels. Long thorn brush channeled us into the death tunnels cut neatly into the jungle.
I could not think of what else to do, so told my three squad leaders; “They don’t like fast”! so fully expecting my people to meet death and destruction, Go as fast as you can”!!
The Enemy flew open vegetation covered hatches designed to be mutually supporting, but panic caused them to, then try to get their weapons out after they flung open the hatches. Most were shot and killed by fast charging front guys with buddies running fast to dump grenades into the spider holes. Not one word was uttered by anyone in any of the three fields of fire.
Usually, fields of fire are set up outside enemy base camp positions. At least that’s how Western Base Camps are set up. We now found ourselves on top of, and inside the enemy base camp. The Base Camp’s tunnels were filled with water, as this was the monsoon season. So, there were hundreds of people a few feet below us in water, which also must have contributed why they were all caught up top-side after their attack on the American Marine Company Patrol Base. (“H”, Company 2nd Bn. First Marines, First Mar. Div.).
Grenade explosions caused other spider hole hatches to flip open a bit to reveal blue smoke, where people were. Some tried to hop out and got shot before they could surrender. One of our guys with Coke bottle thick type glasses; who we figure could not see very good, saw two boys in uniform hop out blinded and banging into brush. He captured both and over the radio we had our company interpreter tell the 16 year old kids to bring us to their leader. Which they did. The Bn Commander would not surrender even after we threw 3 CS gas grenades into the tunnel, which had lots of people down there in water, puking and gasping from the Super tear gas. After trying to capture him and a whole lot of enemy trying to save their leader by coming out of their trap door hatches, we had to kill them all in their flooded tunnels. I just could not risk getting my people endangered trying to take them alive.
THIS, JIHADIHAWK, IS A BRIDGE TOOL GIFT FROM WILDLAND FIRE FIGHTERS TO ENLISTED WAR FIGHTERS. OFFICERS HAVE THEIR ARABIAN MAMALUKE SABERS, AS SYMBOLS OF AUTHORITY, NOW!, TROOPS, who do the fighting and killing, HAVE THEIR PRACTICAL CLOSE QUARTERS WEAPON TO REVERT TO IN THE NEWER DAYS, OF SHORT, HEAVY RIFLES WITH NO BAYONETS. There will always be these primitive, bold close quarters assaults. THESE ARE SYMBOLS OF BRUTAL MILITARY SIGNIFICANCE, FOR TIMES, when duty asks the few to do the IMPOSSIBLE!!
SPEAKING OF THE IMPOSSIBLE
The reason or point of this odd war story is, that, sometimes being bold, daring, and fast in the maneuver, is the best way to go about getting things done. Hi- diddle-diddle, straight up the middle.
CONGRESS ASKED FOR A SIMPLE, PRACTICAL, EFFECTIVE MITIGATION SCHEME OR A UNIVERSAL MITIGATION SYSTEM TO INVEST WISELY INTO, IN ORDER TO WILDFIRE ADAPT OUR CULTURE TO SOMEHOW ELIMINATE THE LOSSES FROM THESE INCREASINGLY DEADLY FIRESTORMS COMING WITH CLIMATE CHANGE. They did not get much of anything from the high-level fire service, land managers. DHS & FEMA people.
Perhaps it is time for the fire services to look to the leadership and ways of the military, especially in the, “DEFENSE”, and “SHAPING THE BATTLE SPACE”, Pre-event, arranging of the ground, and vegetation; to immediately convert all critical sites into a, “SAFETY HARBOR AREA” ; via black-lining 3 circular control lines around what is to survive.
“BOLD, AGGRESSIVE, ATTITUDE, IN THE DEFENSE, SO THE FIGHT IS EASY”
There will be more about the history and traditions of the modified, British Boarding Axes. Marines used in the 1700s. British Boarding Axes were the main Assault weapons to Re-take and Destroy the USS Philadelphia after it was captured by Jihadi Muslims in, 1804. Marines again used British boarding axes to take the fortress at Darna, Tripoli, in 1805. For now, this will used as a symbolic bridging tool. To stand as a reminder-link war fighters with fire fighters, and people who want to help do what has to be done. What we are facing really is a military type defensive challenge. The old methods don’t work except on easy fires. Different world now coming at us.
Dragonslayers is going to give Congress and America a Mitigation Scheme to let the people protect and defend their own family and home. We need 3.5 million dollars to create facilities to do what our government seems unable to do. We need money to boldly venture into the storm to help our people, our country.
Any person interested in contributing $200 or more will gets a JIHADIHAWK. A vivid reminder tool to convince fire fighters to augment toward a more aggressive, bolder way to prepare a war-like attitude to defend static positions set in wildland fuels. Our Critical Sites, need to be effectively Defended and Mitigated in a prepared 360, safe, systematic, common sense, military Scheme.
This war device came into being after my lone rifle platoon was ordered to re-attack that Battalion of enemy soldiers. They were really ready for us that next time and two of my three squads were down wounded a 100 meters in front of the enemy guns. The less wounded crawling over to help the more seriously wounded. This is what Marines just did. No whining just doing. British boarding axes had picks in back of the blades to use like ice axes for climbing up wooden hulls on the old sailing ships. We no longer have wooded hulls on enemy ships so we cut off the picks and made the JIHADIHAWK, safer to carry just tucked in through our belts on our 782 gear. Still fighting Jihadi ragheads but no bayonets.
HERE IS EXACTLY WHAT WILL BE DONE WITH DONATIONS
BUILD A MODERN CNC MANUFACTURING CENTER TO SUPPLY OUR NATION’S FIRE FIGHTERS WITH HIGHER TECH, BETTER TOOLS TO MAKE EACH FIRE FIGHTER 3 TIMES SAFER, 3 TIMES MORE VERSATILE/RESPONSIVE, & 3 TIMES MORE EFFECTIVE/PRODUCTIVE. These to replace present day fire shovels, Pulaskies, McLeods, Rhineharts, combi tools, Council fire rakes, burlap bags, short-handled hoes and other fixed, awkward tools that can’t be stowed in travel bags, and carried with mobilized fire fighters, so that they are always armed.
CREATE A ONE DAY, OUTDOOR NATIONAL, TRAIN THE TRAINERS, TRAINING AREA. This be a live, fire-in-the-hand, training ground where every student actually uses a dragon wizz wheel and fire raising device to actually Black-Line a “Universal wildfire Blueprint around a vulnerable critical site.
BUILD A SUMMER-TIME, NON PLUMBED CREW BARRACKS TO REPLACE THE OLD BARRACKS AT THE SISKIYOU SMOKEJUMPER BASE, THAT THE COUNTY TORE DOWN FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. The old smokejumpers, in their 70s and 80s are too old to jump, but they now own all the facilities. They brought them up to be in far better shape than ever, and the place is now a National Historic Museum, that was originally brought into being, as an initial attack, and mitigation force of religious orders opposed to killing, but wanted to do a dangerous job to serve their country. They were there to parachute to threats from Japanese balloon fire bombs; launched in Japan hoping to destroy America via fire attack.
Ever since they closed down the Siskiyou Smokejumper base; they have had some 15 large 100,000 acre fires that end up as multi-million dollar fires. The Biscuit Fire was 500,000 acres in size cost just under a Billion dollars. It had 7,000 fire fighters, but never more than 200 out on the line.
There was a fire in 2023 that was 93,000 acres, that came up the Smith River Canyon and really spooked the entire valley. It made its way to O’Brian just as the rains came. That fire came from lightning strikes in the Klamath and Six Rivers National Forest and there were just terrain to steep and too rough to hike people in there so they ended up smoking in the Valley for two months. The people of Southern Oregon are tired of having huge fires coming at them and smoking in the area for the full summers at times, and they want their Smokejumper Base Back.
The old jumpers want the Base to be once again used as an important spike base & a living Museum to house jumpers from larger bases on two week details. The Government can put money back into the County and to the National Smokejumper Association who in turn can fund the Museum.
